Empowering nonprofits to achieve their missions.
Our nonprofits provide invaluable services to our community, but today they are under unusal stress. Funding uncertainties, new requirements, prohibitions, and other factors present new hurdles in providing much needed services to our community. This meeting is part of an ongoing effort to collaborate, share information and provide mutual support.
CA SB 1240
In addition to our regular format of open discussion and peer collaboration, this month’s ED/CEO Roundtable will begin with a brief overview of California Senate Bill 1240 and its implications for nonprofits, presented by a representative from the Office of Assemblymember Gregg Hart, co-author of the bill.
SB 1240 proposes the creation of an Office of Nonprofit Empowerment within state government to serve as a centralized point of contact for nonprofits. The office would help organizations navigate state grants and contracts, reduce administrative barriers, and strengthen coordination between nonprofits and state agencies.
This session is primarily intended for full-time, paid CEOs and Executive Directors of San Luis Obispo County nonprofits.
As with all Spokes roundtables, this session is participant-driven and grounded in a shared Participation Agreement:
Values: Empathy and appreciation • Sharing and participation • Leadership and celebration
Expectations: Confidentiality • Respect and listening • Trust and accountability
