The mysteries and complexities of the grant writing process explained! Join us for a workshop and information on the do's and dont's on constructing professional grant proposals. This workshop will provide basic techniques to help you identify prospective funders and determine an appropriate request. Topics will cover an overview of common grant structures and processes, including:

-How to identify prospective funders based on foundation profiles and 990 tax returns.
-Understanding the elements of a clear, compelling grant narrative.
-A survey of basic grant structures, including Letters of Intent and Program Proposals.
-What to include in your program budget and how to write a budget narrative.
-A review of common mistakes in writing grant narratives.

Presented by: Adrienne Harris, Nonprofit Consultant and former Director of the Morro Bay National Estuary Program. Adrienne has twenty years of experience working with nonprofit organizations and government to advance initiatives at the national, regional, and local levels. As a former nonprofit Executive Director, she has unique insights into the challenges facing small and mid-sized nonprofit groups. Adrienne has experience managing multi-year government and private foundation grants, as well as writing federal, state, local, and private grant applications. On the donor side, Adrienne has served on grant review panels at the federal and local level, as well as coordinated grant-giving programs.
