Set Your Program Up for Success

This Ask an Expert session will focus on the careful design and development of a program by providing an overview of the steps to take to set a program up for success down the road. The time taken up front to thoughtfully lay out program goals and objectives, activities, and outcomes only enhances the potential of the program itself, not to mention funding opportunities.

We’ll consider these key questions during this session: What is the evidence-based need for the program? How will your proposed program address this need in the community? What services will you provide? How will you manage the program? What does evaluation look like for your program?

If your organization is thinking of either developing a new program or modifying an existing program to benefit the community, join us to:

--Gain an understanding of the key elements of program design and development.

--Obtain a roadmap to help develop a new program and/or enhance an existing program.

--Learn how to take an idea and grow it to fruition through a strategic process.

This session is intended for anyone who is responsible for designing and managing programs. You’ll receive a brief presentation and then you’ll have an opportunity to ask questions pertaining to your work. Come prepared to engage!

Presented by: Calandra Park, RN, MSW. Calandra has over 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors in New York, Southern California, East Africa, and Southeast Asia. She has served as a program manager, grant writer and reviewer, technical assistance provider, evaluator, RFP developer, and community planner. Most of her work has been in the public health sector which led her to recently pursue a nursing degree to expand her skill set even further. Calandra currently works for Dignity Health.
