CANCELLED: If I’m the President/Chairman of the Board, Am I “The Boss?”

07/27/2017 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM PT

Admission

  • $40.00

Location

San Luis Obispo, CA

Description

This workshop is tailored for organizations that have a paid executive director or staff, but all are welcome.

The chain of command in a nonprofit organization can be confusing. The board has executive power as a governing body. The executive director/CEO has authority over the day-to-day operations and staff within the policy and direction set by the board of directors. So, if you’re the President or Chairman of the Board, does that mean that you’re in charge of everyone and everything?

Join us for this class and learn:

  • --When to lead, when to manage.
  • --How to be a successful supervisor and partner with the Executive Director.
  • --How the role of President varies from organizations with executive staff and those without executive staff.
  • --Keeping committees on track and accountable.
  • --Best practices for evaluating and improving board performance.

Fee: $20 for Spokes members, $10 for participants from same member organization, $40 for non-members

*early bird special: pay online by July 20 for $5.00 off registration*
