Location

San Luis Obispo, CA

Description

Securing funding for your programs is always difficult, but when you live in a small California county that has been dubbed one of the Happiest Places on Earth, it can feel like an impossible uphill climb to land on the radar of a foundation located in San Francisco or Los Angeles. In this humorous and interactive session we will focus on how to revise, re-frame and re-sell your ideas for foundations beyond the San Luis Obispo county line. Join us and learn strategies for breaking out of the local scene and making your case to foundations throughout California.

Join us for a fresh take on your grant requests. You’ll gain new ideas on how to:

  • --Use local and state data to your advantage
  • --Build a case for replicability
  • --Paint a vivid picture that speaks to foundations outside our community
  • --Communicate urgency for a region that is widely perceived as happy and satisfied

Please note: this is not an introductory class. All are welcome, but we will not be covering how to write a grant application. This presentation is oriented towards those organizations regularly seeking funding from foundations outside of the community.

Fee: $15 for Spokes members, $10 for participants from same member organization, $20 for non-members

**Earlybird Discount** Pay online by July 4th and receive $5.00 off!
