Empowering nonprofits to achieve their missions.
A highly-functioning board of directors is crucial to a nonprofit’s success. This class will help executive directors develop tools and strategies to keep board members focused and engaged, and to keep board and staff moving in the same mission-oriented direction. In this class we’ll teach you how to use your strategic plan to respond to ideas that come from the top. You’ll look at the impact that board orientations, job descriptions, and self-assessment tools can have in your organization. We’ll discuss the distinct roles and responsibilities of the board and staff and identify ways for executive directors to both support the board and hold it accountable.
Join us and learn:
-How to identify and clarify board and executive directors’ roles and responsibilities
-How to maintain the board’s focus and commitment
-How to foster trust between the board and the executive director/staff
