Do you have a new program you want to launch and pilot before investing time and resources into formal nonprofit incorporation? Are you a for-profit corporation that wants to start a charitable program? Are you an established organization interested in supporting the expansion of services through partnership? Are you seeking ways to prevent duplication of services in your sector? Join us for this class to learn the options available to your organization or company through fiscal sponsorship.
Fiscal sponsorship is an IRS-accepted way of accepting tax-deductible donations for a charitable organization or project via an already-established 501(c)(3) without having to go through the process of incorporating as a nonprofit or applying for tax-exemption.
Specifically, participants will learn:
-The difference between nonprofit incorporation and fiscal sponsorship
-What a fiscal sponsor can legally do/not do for your project or organization
-Key questions to consider in determining if a fiscal sponsorship is a good solution for your organization
-The various forms of fiscal sponsorship
-The most critical steps in establishing a fiscal sponsorship
It is highly recommended that participants new to the nonprofit sector first attend Spokes’ workshop: “So You Want to Start a Nonprofit?” on September 12th.
Presented by:
Stacey Hunt, CEO of Ecologistics, Inc. Ecologistics currently fiscally sponsors seventeen organizations in a variety of ways, and can answer your questions regarding this simple and effective way to get your charitable work launched.
