How can this help my board?
"Such a big part of being an effective board is the ability to come to a consensus with other board members in order to make decisions that will support the success of the nonprofit you are serving. I think that boards often have challenges staying focused on topics and hearing all perspectives in order to come to a consensus on important issues.
Facilitative Leadership offers very helpful perspectives, methods and tools to keep meetings focused and efficient, make sure that the goals and expectations of what will be accomplished in the meeting are clear and make sure to provide a space where all key stakeholders can be respectfully heard and their perspectives considered before all coming to a decision.
The Spokes board started using the Facilitative Leadership "model agenda" in all of their board meetings after a couple people went through this training. It has helped us to be very clear about what we want to accomplish in a meeting and work towards that together. Since we've started using this model, our board meetings have been reduced from two hours to one and a half hours in length, and we always end on time!" -- Spokes Board Member
