Facilitated by Dr. Suzanne Valery. Suzanne, now retired, was the Director of Institutional Grants at Allan Hancock College for twelve years. She has over twenty years’ experience working in all aspects of grants management. As a retiree, she volunteers on the Fund for Santa Barbara’s Grant Making Committee and its Strategic Planning Committee. She also provides technical assistance and evaluation to Santa Maria’s Central Coast Makerspace Collaborative, a newly established grant-funded initiative. Before working in education, she worked in the nonprofit sector providing case management, employment counseling, and developing self-sufficiency programs in collaboration with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community colleges. Her dissertation research focused on stakeholders’ views of the process of inter-organizational collaboration.
