Most nonprofits accept in-kind gifts of various kinds. Formally termed nonfinancial assets, these include such things as land, equipment, utilities, supplies, and various services.

Become familiar with recently adopted standards for presenting and disclosing such items. Topics will include:

  • What counts as a nonfinancial asset
  • How to establish the value of nonfinancial assets you receive
  • What to do if you sell the asset
  • What do do if you keep the asset
  • How to report the value received

 

Who should attend?

Nonprofit Executive Directors, CFOs at larger nonprofits, anyone at smaller nonprofits that are not required to have an audit but may be approaching that threshold, or simply want to implement best practices in their accounting.

Glenn Burdette

A graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, Erin worked as an auditor at BDO Seidman in San Francisco for three years before joining Glenn Burdette in June of 1998. She has supervised the audits of governments, nonprofits and private companies in a variety of industries, and became an audit manager in June of 2002.
